Colonel Critchlow Sunchbench Requests an Audience

Adventures Club - Colonel Critchlow Sunchbench Requests an Audience - May, 1936

A Blue-Footed Booby arrives at R.E.C. TL Tiki Outpost, delivering a post clad in an air of intrigue. It appears Colonel Critchlow Sunchbench of the Adventurers Club seeks an audience with Commander Regalia and Doctor Shortbottom. The letter omits the purpose behind the request, yet conveys a sense of urgency and secrecy. While it would not be the first time the R.E.C. has collaborated with Merriweather Pleasure’s Club, it is certainly the first time any correspondence between the two organizations has been infused with this level of mystery - and perhaps, desperation.

Gentlemen,

I hope this letter finds you both well and with an adventurous spirit.

Please be advised the content herein is of an urgent nature. I would have attempted to reach you via wire, but as you are aware, our facilities are still under construction and our telegraphy station has yet to be equipped. As this is the case, I am ever so grateful for the fortitude and resolve of your Booby Division and to the fowl that delivers this post to your hand.

I shall get straight to it. The AC is requesting your presence at your earliest convenience. Merriweather intends to solicit your assistance in a matter of utmost concern. Due to the sensitivity and confidentiality of this business, I cannot pen further detail. This is a precaution in the event (unlikely as it may be) this parchment should be intercepted and viewed by unfriendly eyes. Subsequently, explanation and briefing must be conducted in person. Furthermore, the issue at hand is time sensitive. So much so, that Merriweather intends to charter aeroplanes as a mode of conveyance and to hasten your arrival at the Club. Indeed, if Boomerang happens to be at your service, please engage him for said charter and assure him he will be well compensated for his employ.

While I realize this is all most irregular. Trust when I say, we would not submit this petition were the matter not at a level of importance that warrants such applications.

Merri and I eagerly await your reply and hope you are both of an agreeable bent of mind.

Yours in Adventure,
Kungaloosh!

Colonel Critchlow Sunchbench
